My Approaches
I mainly use Somatic Experiencing®, a body-orientated approach, to work with shock and developmental trauma, anxiety, depression, panic, low self-image, grief, loss, and more. I adopt Safe and Sound Protocol® as well in working with children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Somatic Experiencing®
Somatic Experiencing is a body oriented, “bottom-up” approach for the treatment of stress and trauma developed by Dr. Peter A. Levine. It is a naturalistic, psychological method for resolving trauma symptoms and relieving chronic stress by re-establishing Core Autonomic Nervous System Regulation. This approach helps to build resilience and enhances the individual’s capacity to have new empowered bodily experiences and releases trauma shock. Such improvements are the keys to transforming Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and the wounds of emotional and early developmental attachment trauma.

Safe and Sound Protocol®
Developed by Dr. Stephen G. Porges, author of Polyvagal Theory, the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is an acoustic vagal nerve stimulator designed to reduce sound sensitivities and improve auditory processing, behavioral state regulation, and social engagement behaviors through specially filtered music. SSP seeks to shift the nervous system out of a chronic defense (sympathetic or dorsal vagal arousal) and into a state of social engagement through ventral vagal activation. This allows for a more spontaneous experience in human interactions and enhanced ability to self-regulation and co-regulation.
